RTV Vacuum Casting and Pressure are Rapid Prototyping processes that allow parts to be made in a repeating production process. Silicone Molds, also known as Soft Tools, are used to make copies of parts. Parts can be copied in series of about 10 to 100 before a typical Soft Tool begins to break down.  

RTV is known for its fast production of high-quality plastic prototypes and end-use plastic products. At Tuowei Prototype, we can make plastic parts in both hard plastics and soft plastics that simulates real rubber.

RTV Vacuum Casting and Pressure Casting processes begin by producing a Master Model. At Tuowei Prototype, we typically use a 3D Printed SLA Master Model for fast mold making. The Silicone Mold will normally take between 4 to 8 hours to cure. After curing, the Silicone Mold is cut open using a sharp knife and the Master Model is be removed from the cavity. The Silicone Mold is then closed and Polyurethane casting material is injected into the mold to begin making copies of the Master Model.
