Rubber began in the mid 1960s. The process is based off of plastics injection molding. Rubber Injection Molding successfully emulates Plastic Injection Molding process by heating the rubber elastomer but placing it under significantly more pressure per square inch of the cavity during the injection process. This is different from Plastic Injection Molding where the material cools down under significantly less pressure.

Through various innovations, Rubber Injection Molding has become one of the most efficient and vital production options for making mass quantities of rubber parts.
